When we had to close the doors of The Glenturret Visitor Centre back in November, we didn’t know when we would be able to open them again. As a small, close-knit team who pride themselves on offering exceptional customer service, it was difficult for us to say goodbye to each other and our guests indefinitely.

As we prepare to re-open, we spoke to our Tourism Team on what they enjoyed most about their job, and what it meant to them to be welcoming guests back to The Glenturret.

Unsurprisingly, all the team expressed the enjoyment of talking to people.. Part of the joy of working at a distillery is meeting whisky lovers from all over the world, sharing stories, favourite drams, and learning from each other.

Our Retail Assistant Heather, who can always be found helping customers or creating beautiful displays in our shop, captured this sentiment perfectly. “Meeting customers and enjoying the banter is what I enjoy most about my role I can’t wait to chat to people again about our new expressions and show them around our beautiful distillery.”

The Glenturret Production Team have been heroes, keeping our whisky making process going in a safe way throughout the last year, but the distillery has certainly felt different without as many people around. “I’m so looking forward to seeing the distillery buzzing with guests again”, our Retail Manager, Karen, told us “It’s just missing some of the life without them, hearing about their stories and experiences.”

And that goes not only for guests but for each other! Gillian, one of our fantastically knowledgeable Visitor Hosts came back immediately with a very simple “I’ve missed my Glenturret family!” which is a sentiment we all share as a small team! She also spoke about one of the best parts of being a visitor host; “I love educating people on The Glenturret, and seeing visitors leaving happy!”

We round off with a word from our Tourism Manager, Sheenagh who, if you’ve visited the distillery you will most likely remember from her outstanding welcomes! She embodies the warmth and friendliness that we aim to give every guest that visits The Glenturret.

“It has felt like an age since we have been able to welcome visitors through our Distillery doors to experience our wonderful history, heritage and location.

The Tourism Team here at The Glenturret are excited to be able to host tours and tastings again and pass on their wealth of knowledge and passion for our traditional hand-crafted single malt. . We can’t wait to get back to doing what we do best... warm and genuine welcomes, first class service and memorable experiences delivered in a safe and friendly environment”.

From all the team at The Glenturret, we look forward to welcoming you back!
