Following the launch of our Maiden Release we were honoured to have received a plethora of awards from some of the most well-respected bodies in the industry. In total, an impressive 24 medals across the range, including 11 Golds, Double Golds, or Best in Category trophies.


Amongst these awards was The Sanfrancisco Spirits Competition who judged a Silver for Triple Wood, Gold for 10 Years Old Peat Smoked, and a Double Gold for the 12 Years Old expression.

We were also delighted that The Spirits Business awarded The Glenturret Triple Wood and 10 Years Old Peat Smoked Gold, whilst our 12 Years Old received their highest award, the very special Masters Medal.


The Spirits Business Editor and tasting chair, Melita Kiely passed on some lovely comments: “There was high praise for The Glenturret 12 Years Old in the Single Malt: Highlands & Islands – Super Premium round. The whisky was rich and bold, with layers of treacle, tropical fruits, sweet baking spices and oaky polish woodiness.”

As well as its whiskies, The Glenturret’s production team and brand re-design have won a host of awards.


Our Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and Distillery Manager Ian Renwick were recognised by the Icons of Whisky Awards this year: Bob Dalgarno won the prestigious Global Master Distiller of the Year Award and Ian was highly commended as Distillery Manager of the Year.


The prestigious Whisky Magazine Design Awards bestowed 6 Gold medals to the re-design of our 2020 Maiden Release, with the Triple Wood winning Best re-design/ re-launch of the year.

We spoke to our Managing Director, John Laurie, about the success of the past year:


“We’re incredibly proud and humbled to see that our Maiden Release has been so well received across the globe. Our small team here work very hard every day and are extremely passionate about what they do, so we’re happy to see their hard work is rewarded. With the IWSR figures being released recently, it looks like The Glenturret is one of the fastest-growing brands in our sector by value and volume with a growth of more than 200% since acquisition 2 years ago. The 2021 range will be released this summer, let’s hope it will be just as successful- we’ve put the bar high for ourselves!”
