The Glenturret Uaine is now open for reserve bidding online at The Distillers One of One Auction. This stunning 1987 Vintage from Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery is presented in an ultra-rare, hand-blown jade-green crystal decanter from Lalique held within a magnificent chest carved from white Scottish sycamore.
We’re honoured to support the first biennial auction of ultra-rare Scotch whiskies and experiences to help raise over £1 million for disadvantaged young people in Scotland. The event is led by The Distiller’s Charity – the philanthropic arm of The Worshipful Company of Distillers – in partnership with Sotheby’s.
BidSelected and handcrafted by legendary Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno, recently presented with the accolade, Global Master Distiller/Blender of The Year, at the 2021 Icons of Whisky Awards, The Glenturret Uaine will be among the most sought-after of the 40 lots, with a Sotheby’s guide price upwards of £20,000.
The Glenturret’s stunning single malt is presented in a one-of-a-kind jade-green Lalique crystal decanter, designed by the Lalique Group’s Creative Director, Marc Larminaux. The sophisticated organic lines of Lalique’s crystalware take its influence from the distillery’s special location and is a highly collectable item.
The Glenturret Uaine is encased in a magnificent chest from renowned Scottish cabinet maker Callum Robinson. Sculptured from white Scottish sycamore and finished with sumptuous leather and 24ct gold detailing the chest took over one hundred hours to craft. This art piece reflects the tumbling waters of the river Turret flowing alongside The Glenturret distillery and the organic lines of Lalique’s crystalware.
The lot also includes your very own private tour of The Glenturret distillery followed by dinner for eight at The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant where renowned Head Chef Mark Donald, will provide an unforgettable culinary experience featuring an exciting menu of highly creative dishes and prestigious wines.
The live auction will take place at Barnbougle Castle on Friday 3rd December, and you can reserve your bid below.
